  • Committees in the Historical Branch are based in a real historical time period. They are based on events that occurred in the past (e.g. the American Revolution, the Cuban Missile Crisis, etc.) or highlight the affairs of a group of people in history (e.g. the first settlers in North America, post-war recovery, etc.). Directors in the Historical Branch work closely with the ASG Historical and their committee staff to write Background Guides, Character Guides, and Mechanics Guides.

  • Committees in the Fictional Branch are based on pre-existing fiction in any medium, including books, movies, shows, plays, commercials, etc. They are based entirely in well-known fictional worlds (e.g. Middle-earth from Lord of the Rings, Panem from The Hunger Games, etc.) or include several fictional characters from various media (e.g. Tony the Tiger, The Lorax, etc.). Directors in the Fictional Branch work closely with the ASG Fictional and their committee staff to write Background Guides, Character Guides, and Mechanics Guides.

  • Committees in the Conceptual Branch are based in unique, contemporary, and/or original settings. They are inspired by historical events or fictional works (e.g. rebuilding the Library of Alexandria, a task force against a dangerous AI, etc.) or highlight the affairs of a group of people in an original or contemporary setting (e.g. music industry executives in Hollywood, wealthy stakeholders of casinos in Las Vegas, etc.). Directors in the Conceptual Branch work closely with the ASG Conceptual and their committee staff to write Background Guides, Character Guides, and Mechanics Guides.
